My very deepest condolences to the Simon family. In the very early 60's, I used to watch over Mikey, David and Christopher for Dorcas. I will always remember Mike for his huge smile and the friendliness he had towards everyone. Mike was the gentlest human being I have ever met and I know he will be missed by all who had the fortunate opportunity to know him. I was also sad to hear that Christopher had predeceased him. I know there is a very special place in Heaven for both Mike and Christopher.

Mike was a special person with a kind soul. He greeted everyone with a smile and a well wish. All that knew him and many did in his home town of Bristol loved him. He will be greatly missed. Blessings to his family.

I met Mike in grammar school and cannot think of anyone else never changed as they grew up. He was always kind, sweet, inquisitive, helpful and smiling. He was s in the Boy Scouts with my brothers and really enjoyed hanging with the guys. I will never forget high school gym class learning to square dance. Mike was my partner and would swing me high into the air as we would do-so-do. He would laugh and say let's do it again! I will miss his smile and feel blessed to have known him and his good heart. I am so sorry for your loss.

I am heartbroken to learn of my dear friend Mike’s passing. I have known “Big Mike”; a gentle giant along with his brother Chris for some 45 years as we used to pass each other in the early morning each day while delivering The Hartford Courant to each other’s neighborhoods on foot; back in the 70’s.
For decades I would always look for Mike in front of Stop & Shop where he used to hold court with some of his friends who would gather there; and I looked forward to spending some time with my pal who always knew what was going on around town. Mike seemed to know just about everyone who came by; and for me he would always have a hearty and enthusiastic Hiya Mark! I would shake his remarkably huge hand, my knuckles folded sideways inside his grip and he would always remember exactly what it was that we were talking about the last time we’d met. In more recent years I would go by his house to see if I could catch him outside, which I often did. Mike was one of those especially good people that you meet along the way who become a part of your own life story; and I’m sure going to miss him. RIP big guy, and say hello to Chris for me. There was only one Big Mike Simon.

I have worked in stop &shop for years and for as long as I can remember Michael has always gone out of his way to make me smile or lend me a hand I really should not say out of his way because to him to be kind was a natural thing I just want you all to know his kindness was so very much appreciated by me on days when my load was hard to carry he always brought my life back to a different perspective I will miss him your family has my sypathy I am proud to say he was one of my favorite people I know the gates of heaven were wide open to such a good hearted man
