Al was one of my favorite people at Bristol Central High!!!

Despite his sardonic humor and grumpy facade, He was really a warm and gentle spirit, and i really enjoyed the time i spent with him And Mrs O!
We shared lots of good times "in the OLD DAYS!!!!!

Hugs to you and the family, E!

So sorry to hear of Mr. Opolinsky's passing. I had him as a math teacher at BCHS and he gave me a confidence in myself I had never had. I went on to get a Master's Degree in Math Education and this never would have happened if I hadn't had him as a teacher. He was very special.

So sorry to hear of Al's passing. I taught with Al at Bristol Central for several years, played racquetball and golf with him and valued his friendship. Please accept my sincere condolences.

I just returned from Florida last night and this morning read about Alvin's passing. My husband was a very good friend of "Curly" as we called him. They both served in the Korean War and Curly helped me when I could not contact my husband in Korea. I will always remember him and truly loved the good person he was.

Had the pleasure of having Al at BCHS for a few math classes. One of my favorite teachers. He was a great man and teacher. I was not aware of his service to our country but can see it now in the kind man that he was. May he Rest In Peace.

Mrs. Opolinsky, David and Amy,

We don't get back to Bristol because both of our parents have passed. We often reminiscence about our childhood memories, one of which is our Sunday mornings spent at Rockwell Park with Mr. Opolinsky, David and Amy. Who would have thought that they were progressive dads, taking the children to the park without the moms :)

May your memories comfort you during these difficult times.

I served under Major Opolinsky at Westover Air Force Base in the late '60's, and he was a man that was liked by all that worked with him. My deepest condolences to the family. RIP Major O.
