ROBERT J. VICINO
September 7, 1930 – January 8, 2010

Robert founded the R.J. Vicino Agency in 1962 and operated the insurance and real estate agency for thirty-six years.  He was honored by the Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) as Professional Agent of the Year in 1977.  He served twelve years in the House of Representatives in the General Assembly of the State of Connecticut, serving six years in leadership positions as Deputy Majority Leader and Deputy Speaker of the House.  He was president of the Bristol Young Democratic Club, elected two times to the Board of Selectmen, served twenty-five years on the Democratic Town Committee.  He also held the position of Justice of the Peace for thirty years, marrying hundreds of couples in the City of Bristol.  He was a founder and former President of the Bristol Board of Realtors.  He was a former member of the Chippanee Golf Club, the Bristol Lodge of Elks and a lifelong member of the Bristol Boys Club and St. Anthony Church.  He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Air Force.   He won numerous awards and recognitions’ in his long career.  He was much loved and admired and greatly missed.             Love, from your adorning wife, Nancy, of 33 years and loving grandson, Christopher.  “Bobby, you always said I was the love of your life.  You were and always will be the love of mine.  I miss you, Nancy”.   A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday February 1, 2010, 10 AM at St. Anthony Church, Bristol.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.  Relatives and friends may call at the Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Monday between 8:30 and 9:30 AM.  Please visit Robert’s memorial web-site at www.FunkFuneralHome.com
