Valeria Branchaud, 88, of Bristol, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022. Born in Plymouth, CT on March 19, 1933, daughter of the Jennie Checovetes. Valeria is survived by her husband, Rene Branchaud, the love of her life. Son and his wife, Richard & Deborah Branchaud, daughters, Gloria Chappuis and Linda Biernacki, brother and his wife, Matthew & Janet Romanko, sister-in-law Anne Checovetes, brother-in-law Bruce Morin, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Valeria and Rene enjoyed 71 years of marriage together and raised three beautiful children. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and playing cards. She also liked going to St. Stanislaus Church Mass every Saturday and then going out to dinner with her husband. Valeria was predeceased by her mother, brothers Eugene, Walter, John (Johnny) Checovetes and sisters Jessie Ravita and Vivian Morin.
Visitation will be on Wednesday January 12th from 9 to 10AM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol who has the honor of serving the family. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30AM in St. Stanislaus Church, 510 West St., Bristol. Her committal will take place immediately following at the Holy Family Mausoleum in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
