Suzanne (Rembis) Lenk, 90, of Bristol, beloved wife of John Lenk, died on Monday (November 12, 2018) at Bristol Hospital. Suzanne was born in New Britain on November 21, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Adam and Eve (Pelka) Rembis.
She was raised in New Britain and moved to Bristol when she married. After graduating high school she worked several years for Southern New England Telephone as a telephone operator. In her early years she was athletic; she was an avid tennis player and even taught her husband how to fish. She met her beloved husband after a tennis match with his sister. Suzanne was devoted to her family and enjoyed holiday picnics, playing cards and Sunday rides. She also enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Cape Cod with her husband, John. Suzanne resided at The Pines nursing home for the last few years. Her family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation for the compassionate and loving care she received from all the staff members. Suzanne's daily visits from her husband and their beloved dog Daisy added much joy to the lives of the residents and staff as well. After 66 years of marriage, they truly were soul mates.
In addition to her husband, Suzanne is survived by her two sons: Damon Lenk and his wife Dorothy of Bristol, Ronald Lenk of Wolcott; her daughter: Rebecca Lenk of Madison; two grandchildren: Aurora Suzanne Lenk, John Lenk; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by four brothers; Walter, Raymond, Theodore, Adam and two sisters, Suzanna and Elizabeth.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, at 11 AM. Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Mausoleum, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home on Saturday (November 17, 2018) between 9 and 11 AM.
