Sharon L. Viel

Sharon (Johnson) Viel, 77, of Bristol, died on Tuesday (March 30, 2021) at home. Sharon was born on October 31, 1943 in Sanford, ME and was a daughter of the late Winfred Johnson, Sr. and Gladys (Boston) Johnson. She was raised in Sanford and Bangor, ME and lived briefly in California before moving to Bristol at age 20. She was retired from Forestville Machine. She enjoyed fishing, was a fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, and cherished her time with her family especially her grandchildren. Sharon is survived by three sons: Donald Ouellette and Heidi Driscoll of Bristol, Keith Ouellette and wife, Michelle of Burlington, and Ricky Judge and wife, Erin of Maine; daughters-in-law: Janice and Tammy Ouellette; six siblings: Betty Kaiser of California, Ernest Johnson and wife, Sheila, of Bristol, Vera Forbotnik of Florida, Marilyn Thistlethwaite of Bristol, Dennis Johnson and wife, Juana of Bristol, Tim Cole and wife, Susan Johnson of Cheshire; seven grandchildren: Katie Selander and Dan, A.J. Ouellette and Emily, Jenna Ouellette and Jake, Hannah, Andrew, Austin Ouellette, and Kevin Seward; her special great-granddaughter: Sofia; her special friend, Rosaire Ouellette; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by sons: Dan and Kevin Ouellette, and brothers: Winfred “Rocky” Johnson, Jr. and William Johnson. Due to the pandemic, her funeral and burial will be celebrated with the family only on Saturday, April 3, 2021 starting at 10:45 AM.  The funeral will be livestreamed and may be viewed by visiting Sharon’s memorial website at www.FunkFuneralHome.com.  Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, is honored to serve the family.
