Sebastiano F. Calabro

      Sebastiano F. Calabro, 89, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at his son’s residence in New Jersey. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to the late Angela (Saglimbeni) Calabro. Sebastiano was born in Italy on January 18, 1932 and was the son of the late Santo and Maria (Manuli) Calabro. Sebastiano lived in Italy until 27, before moving to Bristol and was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony Church. Sebastiano practiced Law in Italy and worked as a Foreign Language teacher at Trumbull High School and Bristol Central High School.
Sebastiano is survived by his daughter: Sabrina Barney of Bristol; son: Sebastiano Calabro and his wife Erin of New Jersey; brother: Giusseppe Calabro and his wife Nunziata of West Hartford; grandchildren: Cameron Barney, Rachel (Calabro) Ludwig and her husband Finn, Sean, Addie, Shanna, Kassie, Jeremy, Eric and Jill Calabro; great-granddaughter: Charlotte Ludwig; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents he is predeceased by his son-in-law Joseph Barney and brother Giovanni Calabro.
      Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Anthony Church, The Parish of St. Francis de Sales, 111 School St., Bristol on Tuesday, January 18th at 10AM to attend a Mass of Christian Burial and are also invited for the entombment at the Holy Family Mausoleum in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sebastiano’s honor to Veteran’s Affairs (www.volunteer.va.gov) or to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org).
