Richard “Dick” H. Gray, 93, of Bristol, died on Monday, December 21, 2020.  Richard was born in Bristol, CT on October 20, 1927.  He was the son of the late Wallace and Rose Faye Gray.  He has resided in Bristol since 1959.  Richard is survived by one daughter, Faye Gray of Bristol.  He was predeceased by his wife, Agnes Gaura Gray who died in 2010, and by two sisters Phyllis Virello and Nadine Gaudet and two brothers, Ralph and Lawrence Gray.  He leaves a brother-in-law, John Gaura, a sister-in-law, Mary Gaura and many loving nephews, nieces and cousins. Richard served in the United States Naval Service during World War II.  He was a tool and die maker for Wallace Barnes/Associated Spring where he designed the Polaroid camera film pack spring and many of the parts used in the earlier space shuttle capsules.  After his retirement, he formed his own company and manufactured parts, primarily for Command Aircraft, Inc. Richard was a member of the Bristol DAV for 46 years and served as the Post Commander.  He was a wonderful cook and worked as a caterer for many years with Joe Majursky.  Richard was a talented craftsman, an avid hunter and a lifelong learner who was always quick to adopt new technology.  Richard will be remembered by family and friends as the man behind the camera or the stove who always was ready with a helping hand. A private graveside service with military honors will be held in the Spring.  Funk Funeral Home, Bristol, CT is honored to serve the family.
