Richard A. Cusano, 74, passed away at Bristol Hospital of a long illness on Aug. 6, 2021. He was the son of Rocco A. Cusano and Anne (Kowalchuk) Cusano. After he graduated from high school, Richard joined the U.S. Air Force and served at bases in Lackland, Texas; Bunker Hill, Ind.; Hurlburt Field, Fla.; and Ubon, Thailand during the Vietnam Conflict, and then Eglin AFB in Florida, ending his service as a Staff Sergeant. Richard worked locally as a machine operator at Connecticut Spring, New Departure GM, and at the O.Z. Gedney Co. He was a member of the Bristol Polish American Citizens Club.
Richard is survived by his mother, Anne K. Cusano; sister Maryanne Timbrell and her husband John; niece Cheryl Ann Timbrell and nephew Christopher John Timbrell.
He had a private military burial to honor his service to his country at St. Joseph Cemetery. Formal committal was performed by Father Edmund Nadolny.
Time passes but memories remain. Rest in peace “Richie.”
