Raymond P. Taillon, 93, of Bristol, widower of Rita Z. (Zang) Taillon, died on Friday (September 24, 2021) at home. Raymond was born in Bristol on May 18, 1928 and was a son of the late Rene and Alice (Morrissette) Taillon. A lifelong Bristol resident, he graduated from Bristol High School and was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church, Bristol.
He served in the United States Army stationed in Germany during the Korean War then went on to own and operate Taillon Auto Top for many years.
He enjoyed flying and held a private pilot’s license flying his plane in and out of Robertson Airport. He and Rita enjoyed travel and were known for their trip to Bermuda every November 11th to celebrate Veteran’s Day. They also enjoyed traveling to Germany where Ray returned to the places he visited while stationed there. He held an interest in the Russian culture, studying and learning to speak the Russian language and would play the Russian national anthem in the morning.
Ray is survived by two daughters: Marilyn Taillon and husband, Robert Jaeger of Geneva, IL, and Kathryn Taillon and husband, Dr. Arthur Field of St. Augustine, FL; a sister: Louise Snow of Orono, ME; a granddaughter: Allyson Field and husband, Nate Jarvis; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law: Grace and Victor Cwiek, and Peter Cwiek, all of Bristol; and many close friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday (September 29, 2021) at 10 AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 510 West St., Bristol. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Bristol. There are no calling hours.
