Ralph J. Marenna, 93, of Bristol, passed away on Tuesday (February 9, 2021) at Sheridan Woods Health Care Center he was preceded in death by his wife Jannette (Beaupre) Marenna. Ralph was born in Bristol on August 10, 1927 and was the son of the late Joseph and Dora (O’Nofrio) Marenna. A lifelong Bristol resident, he graduated from Bristol High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II then worked for some local manufacturing companies before going to work for New Departure until his retirement. He enjoyed ten-pin bowling with Mom and had many trophies and was huge fan of UCONN Men’s and Women’s basketball teams, the Yankees, and the Giants. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Parish devoted to St. Anthony Church, Bristol. Ralph is survived by six children: Candice Young of Utah, Diane Ferrante and husband, Nicholas of Ocala, FL, Daniel Marenna and wife, Tracy of Terryville, Jean Kimball and husband, Dale of Bristol, and twins Penny Mosieur and husband, Sam of St. Croix USVI, and Pamela Murphy and husband, Brian of Bristol; a brother: Peter Marenna of Southington; all his beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son: Ralph Alan Marenna, grandson: Cullen Murphy, and siblings: Dominic and Apifanio “Happy” Marenna, Susan Colapinto, Mary Kilpatrick, and Carmella Sancherico. The family expresses a special thanks to the entire staff at Sheridan Woods for all their support and kindness they gave Ralph during these difficult times, especially to his faithful nurse, Sandy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (February 13, 2021) at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony Church, 111 School St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday between 9 and 10 AM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol.
