Melvin J. Lizotte

Melvin J. Lizotte, 71, of Bristol, beloved husband of Huguette Lizotte, died on Tuesday (October 6, 2020) at John Dempsey Hospital, Farmington. Born on March 20, 1949 to the late Henry and Martha (Langlais) Lizotte, he was a lifelong Bristol resident. Melvin served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War before his honorable discharge in 1972. After his service, Melvin worked for New Departure for many years before his retirement, after which he worked his favorite job with his Buddy at Automatic TLC, where he loved taking care of and providing service to his customers. He loved fishing, hunting and golfing especially with his favorite brother-in-law and nephew. He had a crazy sense of humor and loved to tease and play around with everyone especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Huguette, Melvin is survived by his daughters: Lisa Selvaggi of Bristol, Stephanie Peplau and her husband Wayne of Terryville, Tina Burke and her husband Bill of New Jersey; grandchildren: Anthony and Angelina Selvaggi, Elizabeth Peplau, Colin and Taylor Burke; brother: Henry and his wife Darla Lizotte of Terryville; sisters: Jackie Taber and her husband Phil of Bristol, and Sylvia Caron and her husband Rit of Terryville; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 11AM at St. Gregory The Great Church, 235 Maltby St. Bristol, military honors will follow.
