MaryBeth (Pattavina) Morelli, 76, of Burlington, widow of Louis L. Morelli, passed away on Thursday (September 14, 2023) at the home that she shared with her daughter and son-in-law.
MaryBeth was born in New Britain on May 27,1947 and was the daughter of the late Angelo and Eda (Mattarocci) Pattavina. She was raised in New Britain and graduated from Pulaski High School. MaryBeth married her high school sweetheart, Lou, after dating for six years and they settled in Terryville. She went to work for the Plymouth Recreation Department. MaryBeth started as an administrative assistant before taking on the role of recreation director. She served the Town of Plymouth for over 30 years and was honored by having the bocce and horseshoe courts at Lake Winfield named after her. She moved to Bristol where she volunteered for Bristol Hospital and was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Parish. She loved cooking and hosting many holidays and parties. She and Lou traveled to many islands in the Caribbean with Aruba being her favorite. As an animal lover, she raised Irish Setters and won blue ribbons with Autumn and Abbey. In her earlier years, she enjoyed ceramics, crafts, and bowling. She was a big fan of UCONN basketball.
MaryBeth loved her family and friends very much and is survived by her two children: Corinne Mazon and husband, James, and Michael Morelli and wife, Michelle of Bristol; her brother and sister-in-law: Daniel and Faith Pattavina of Florida; six grandchildren: Jillian and Benjamin Mazon, Nicholas, Jackson, Samantha, and Madison Morelli; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday (September 22, 2023) at 9 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Gregory the Great Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, New Britain. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home on Thursday (September 21, 2023) between 5 and 7 PM.
