Mary L. (Freibott) Brandhorst, 88, of Bristol, beloved widow of Charles L. Brandhorst died on Tuesday (October 15, 2019) at The Pines of Bristol. Born in Los Angeles to the late Stephen and Myrtle (Milner) Freibott on June 7, 1931, she was a longtime California resident. She loved her career as a nurse at the Community Hospital of San Gabriel in California. Mary loved to travel and enjoyed her vacations to visit family in Connecticut so much that she decided to move to Bristol three years ago, in particular she appreciated the autumn foliage. She loved animals and was known to be a fantastic baker. Above all, family was the most important to Mary; she loved spending time with her children and many grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her daughters: Linda Dutter and Frances Dutter; her grandchildren: Mary Gray, Donna Garcia, Lorraine Garcia, Stephanie Farley, Tina Aguilera, Gilbert Aguilera, Armando Robles and Rosemary Woolsey; twenty-three great grandchilden; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her brother: Michael Freibott; and her three sisters: Betty Hemphill; Frances Snell and Margaret Harris.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (October 19, 2019) at 10 AM at St. Matthew Church, 120 Church Ave., Forestville. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol. There will be no calling hours. Please visit Mary’s memorial website at www.FunkFuneralHome.com.
