Mark Lacic, of Bristol, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023 surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme. Mark was born in Hartford to Mary Lacic and the late Zygmunt Lacic, the first generation born here in America. Mark always talked about the strength his parents had coming over from Poland to America and held great appreciation for the values he was taught.
Mark attended Newington High School before joining the United States Navy where he proudly served aboard the USS Petersen (DD-969). After serving, he attended CCSU and worked in the health and safety field.
In addition to his mother, Mary Lacic of Newington, Mark is survived by his wife, Nicole (LaVoie) Lacic and their children: Ethan and Madison; his sister and brother-in-law: Dorothy and Jason Margarido of Washington, his sister: Theresa Lacic of Florida; his mother-in-law: Pamela LaVoie of Bristol; his brother-in-law: Matt LaVoie of Bristol; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Kristen and Joey Cardello of Bristol; his niece: Amelia McCall; his nephew and godchild: Noah McCall; and his nephew: Levi Cardello. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father: Zygmunt Lacic and his father-in-law: Samuel LaVoie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (November 25, 2023) at 11:30 AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 510 West Street, Bristol. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Saturday between 9 and 11 AM.
