Marie Corinne Freimuth

Marie Corinne (Vigue) Freimuth, daughter of Perley and Rose (Gardner) Vigue, passed away on November 12, 2022, just two days shy of her 91st birthday. Born in Bristol, she was a long-time resident of Southington and more recently a resident of Fairfield. Corinne graduated from the Bristol High School in 1951. Over the course of thirty years in addition to her two children, she took care of more than 20 foster children. After she was widowed, Corinne was employed with the Connecticut State Police SPBI in Meriden. She worked there for 23 years before her retirement. Corinne was lucky and got to enjoy her retirement. She was full of life and called it like she saw it. She was many things-- a woman of great faith, the family historian, a voracious reader and a puzzle solver. She had a quick wit. She adored her family, enjoyed bingo, cards (she almost always won), visits to the casinos, quiz and cooking shows, and traveling to the Amish Country of Pennsylvania. Italian food, especially her notorious lasagna at Christmas and trips to Maine always brought a smile as did the Boston Red Sox and the annual family Septemberfest. She is survived by her son Michael Freimuth and his wife Maureen Driscoll of Fairfield, her daughter Marjorie Bishop and her companion Billy Olson of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren Todd, Brad, Jenny, Marleena, Christopher and Katie; great grandchildren Angelina, Micayla, Aidan, Bella, Scarlet, Michael and Austin. She will be missed by her sister Geri Ferro of Brunswick, Georgia and many special nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband, Walter Freimuth and her brother, Perley (Joe) Vigue, Jr. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Sunrise Assisted Living Center in Fairfield and at the Jewish Senior Center in Bridgeport. 

Funeral Services will be held this Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11 AM in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 154 Meadow Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in South End Burial Ground, Southington. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday between 9:30 and 11 AM.
