Lilian M. Corbeil

It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Lilian Letourneau Corbeil of Bristol. Lilian was one of fifteen children born to Angeline Faucher and Henri-Louis Dallaire. In 1953, she married Roland Letourneau and together they had 4 children.

Times were hard in Canada so the family moved to Bristol, CT in 1968. She attended night school and learned to speak English. She was an accomplished seamstress.  She had the gift to put together great looks for her customers and was known as that wonderful French saleslady at Jon Marie’s, Dorothy’s, Land’s and Raymond’s where she worked at until her retirement.

After the death of Roland in 1988 she married Phillip Corbeil and began another part of her life. She wintered in Florida and traveled to many places making new friends wherever she went. In her later years Golf became her passion and she would play whenever she could.

She is survived by her son Pierre Letourneau Sr. and his wife Celeste of Marietta, Georgia. Her grandchildren Pierre Jr., Marc and Lily, great-grandchildren Anthony, Austin and Jeannie Mae also from Georgia. A daughter Lucy Tartarelli and her husband Donati of Bristol, her granddaughter Krista Tartarelli, and great grandsons Noah and Skyler Ogonowski, A son Jean Letourneau of St Ludger. Quebec formerly of Bristol. His Daughter Danielle Clere and her husband Xian, a son John Letourneau and his wife Mallory of Newington, great-grandchildren Eloise, Adelaide and Cody. She was predeceased by her son Louis. She also leaves behind many brothers, sisters and family back in Canada.

The visiting hours will be Tuesday morning, August 31st from 9 to 10:30 AM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, has the honor of serving Lilian’s family. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Ann Church, The Parish of St. Francis de Sales Parish at 215 West Street, Bristol at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
