Kathryn J. Mascaro

Kathryn (Sirianni) Mascaro, 96, of Bristol, widow of Alfred Mascaro, passed to her creator on Saturday (July 17, 2021) at home.  Kathryn was born on November 23, 1924 in Carbondale, PA and was one of seven children of the late Ralph and Rose (Cerra) Sirianni. She lived in Carbondale where she met the love of her life, Alfred Mascaro, married and moved to Bristol. They were married 54 years before his passing. Kathryn spent her life raising her loving family and volunteering with the Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, and the Bristol Senior Center. Known as “Nani” to so many, she loved going to bingo, going to the casino, traveling, and was a die-hard New York Yankees fan. Kathryn is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: James and Patricia Mascaro of Plymouth, and Alan and Traci Mascaro of Stuart, FL; two daughters and sons-in-law: Phyllis and Don Van Gorder of Bristol and RoseMary and Robert Heaton of Terryville; a brother: Eugene Sirianni and wife, Kathleen of Bristol; Nani is survived by four granddaughters: Angela Daigle, Melissa Papapietro, Holly Mascaro, and Kathryn Darley; three grandsons: Leaman Van Gorder, Brian and Anthony Mascaro; four extended grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; ten extended great-grandchildren; two extended great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Kathryn was predeceased by her sister: MaryJo Kostiak of Carbondale, PA; and four brothers: Anthony and Joseph Sirianni of Bristol, and Louis and Ralph Sirianni of Carbondale, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday (July 22, 2021) at 10 AM at St. Gregory the Great Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Thursday between 8:30 and 9:30 AM.
