Julia L. LaGasse

Julia L. LaGasse, 93, of Bristol, passed away peacefully at Bristol Hospital on (Friday) October 1, 2021. She was the widower of Philip L. LaGasse.

Julia was born in Bristol, CT on January 18, 1928 to the late Anthony and Catherine (Palmisano) Labato. She was a lifelong Bristol resident and worked as a bank teller at Bristol Federal Savings & Loan, as well as both the Wallace Barnes and Superior Electric Credit Unions. Julia was a very devoted parishioner of Saint Francis de Sales Parish at St. Anthony Church and was a very active member, volunteering in various church activities including bingo and being a lector. She was always willing to volunteer for any event or help anywhere it was needed.

Julia leaves behind her two sisters: Rose LeFemine of Plainville and Esther Nadeau of Bristol, and also several nieces and nephews: Gerard “Jay” Nadeau (Sandy), Josephine Acampora (Frank), Anthony Labato, Karen Gagnon, Jack DiCrisantis (Barbara), Carol Soucy, and Roger B. Michele; as well as many dear friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Julia was predeceased by three brothers: Michael Labato, Cesario “Chet” Labato, and Angelo DiCrisantis; one sister, Angie Mozelak; two brothers-in-law: Vito LeFemine and Gerard Nadeau, Sr.; and one nephew, William Nadeau.

The visiting hour will be on (Thursday) October 7, 2021 from 8:30 to 9:30AM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, who has the honor of serving Julia’s family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM at St. Anthony Church, 111 School St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis de Sales Parish/St. Anthony Church, 180 Laurel St, Bristol, CT 06010.
