Joseph J. Cwick, 89, of Bristol, widower of Helen (Wisniewski) Cwick, died on Friday (March 12, 2021) at The Pines at Bristol.
Joseph was born in Thomaston on June 11, 1931 and was a son of the late Albin and Jennie (Luboyeski) Cwick. Raised in Thomaston, the longtime Bristol resident worked for New Departure before retiring in 1988.
He was an avid Red Sox fan as well as UCONN men and women’s basketball. He enjoyed playing golf and was a 50-year member of Pequabuck Golf Club where he also enjoyed playing cards with his fellow members. He was a member of the Bristol Elk’s Lodge #1010 and a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church, Bristol. He served in the United States Army and was a Korean War veteran where he was the recipient of the Combat Infantryman Badge. Joe is survived by his two brothers: Edmund Cwick of Thomaston, and Raymond Cwick of Watertown; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister: Helen Kazmierski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (March 20, 2021) at 10 AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 510 West St., Bristol.
