John "Jack" F. O'Dell Jr.

John “Jack” F. O’Dell, Jr., 79, of Bristol, loving husband of Muriel (Casey) O’Dell, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the Bristol Senior Center while enjoying a game of cornhole. He was born in New Britain on September 13, 1943 and was the son of the late John Sr. and Vivian (Lockery) O’Dell. Jack worked for many years at Pratt & Whitney and eventually he retired from Honeywell as a Quality Control Representative. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son: John O’Dell; six grandchildren: Vivian O’Dell, Andrew (Jessenia) O’Dell, Bonita O’Dell, Matthew O’Dell and fiancé Megan, Peter O’Dell, Maddy O’Dell and boyfriend Nathan; great grandson Kolton O’Dell; brother Robert O’Dell and fiancé Caryn; brother-in-law Robert Bednarz; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son Patrick O’Dell and a sister Lynn Bednarz.

The visiting hours will be Tuesday morning, October 4, 2022 from 8:30 to 10:15 AM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM in Saint Matthew Church, at 120 Church Ave., Bristol. Interment with military honors will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
