Joan H. Soucy

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan (Heffernan) Soucy, who died peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital on September 17, 2022 at the age of 87. Joan was born January 27, 1935 and lived almost the entirety of her life in Bristol before moving to Guilford, Ct for the past seven months. She was an active member of the American Legion, she enjoyed playing cards, bowling, horseshoes, a can of beer, and a good laugh. Joan brought joy to everyone she met, she was much loved and will be sadly missed. Joan was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph Rosario Soucy who passed in 2003, and her daughter, Linda Roy who passed in 2014. She is survived by her son, James Heffernan of Madison, CT, his wife Holly Robins, and their son Evan Landau. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 5 to 8 pm at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. The funeral will be a private ceremony with family members only. Donations can made in Joan’s memory to the Connecticut Humane Society.
