Joan O. Smith

Joan (Olson) Smith, 88, of Rocky Hill, CT, died on Monday (March 13, 2023) at Apple Rehab of Rocky Hill after a short illness.
She was the widow of James D. Smith who predeceased her in 1975. Joan was born on September 17, 1934 in Canaan, CT and was the daughter of the late John B. and Jennie (Rosselle) Olson.
She formerly lived in Terryville, CT prior to moving to Bristol, CT in 1970. She was employed as a Supervisor of the Dietary Department at the former Buckley Convalescent Home.
Joan enjoyed knitting, painting, drawing, baking, calligraphy, gardening and reminiscing about family and travel adventures taken.
Joan is survived by her son, Jay D. Smith and his wife, Doreen Krupp, of Rocky Hill. CT. She was predeceased by a son, Jeffery Smith.
