JoAnn Hammell

JoAnn (Rodin) Hammell, 59, of Bristol beloved wife of Robert T. Hammell, died on November 14, 2022 while on a cruise vacation with her family in Hawaii.JoAnn was born on January 1, 1963 in Morristown, NJ and was a daughter of Robert Rodin of West Simsbury and the late Janice (Warner) Rodin.  She was raised in New Jersey and graduated from the University of North Carolina.  She was a Bristol resident since 1998 where she worked at The Pines of Bristol, formerly Nursing Care Center. In addition to her husband, JoAnn is survived by a sister: Barbara; a nephew: Joshua; and two nieces: Alicia and Larissa. She was predeceased by her daughter, Nicole Rose Hammell; her sister: Alison Farnelli; and a niece, Melissa Farnelli. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (January 28, 2023) at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, 33 Queen St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.  There are no calling hours. Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, is honored to serve the Hammell family.
