Carl Veilleux

Tribute

Carl Veilleux, 93, of Bristol, widower of Mary (Emond) Veilleux. Carl was born in Waterville, ME in 1930 and was the son of the late Arthur and Gertrude (Bright) Veilleux. He formerly lived in Newington and Wethersfield before moving to Bristol in 1991. He worked for Terry Steam Turbine Co. in Windsor for 30 years and then for Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks before retiring. He was also a professional drummer, picking up the drums at the age of 10. He served in the United States Army where he played the drums in the Army band. Carl enjoyed duckpin and candlepin bowling, shooting pool and pitching horseshoes. He was a member of the American Legion Post 2 in Bristol and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Plainville. Carl is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Larry and Carol Veilleux of Stafford Springs; two daughters and a son-in-law: Carla and Steve St. Laurent of Terryville, and Bonnie Morton of Keller, TX; daughter-in-law: Lori Veillleux of Enfield; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Timothy Veilleux, a brother, Donald Veilleux, sisters, Gertrude “Marilyn” Morawski and Lillian Ronadeau, his first wife: Pearl (Hebert) Veilleux.
The visiting hour will be Friday morning, June 2, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM in St. Matthew Church at 120 Church Avenue, Bristol. Interment with full military honors will follow in Mt.
