Jeff will be missed by many. He was a hard worker and family man. I gave him a hard time when we first met over 30 years ago but he quickly won me over with his smile and big heart. He always made me laugh. My condolences to the Tye and Valentine family and all that loved him. Love you always, Lolita

My deepest condolences to all of Jeff’s family .
It has been too many years since I last talked to Jeff but I remember my time with him like it was yesterday. I was only 20 years old when I started working with Jeff at Bradlees Department store as store security. Without a doubt this was one of my most memorable jobs throughout my life and I owe that to Jeff.
I’d like to think that Jeff ,Tony Haley ,and I put the fear of god in all shoplifters in the Bristol area . Lol
I truly looked forward to work with Jeff and Toney.
The pranks that were played and the lessons learned will be with me forever. I can remember the debate over what kind of music we would listen to in the office and if Jeff had his say it was always music from the 50s. The 3 of us crammed in this little office in the rear of the store singing “two faces have I “ by Lou Christie lives with me to this day and brings a smile to my face .
If you’ve never heard the song , listen to it and you’ll understand .
Whenever I would leave for the day I remember Jeff telling me “hang 10, 5 twice”. Or his other his other favorite catchphrase
“don’t let your meatloaf”.
I know the later may be less appropriate but I am proud to say that I remember it to this day.
I remember the excitement Jeff felt later when he became a father and when he also started working for the Dept of Corrections, something I pestered him to do over the years.
Losing Jeff is truly a sad day .
On the day before Thanksgiving , I give thanks for I was blessed with the opportunity to know Jeff and that some of his wisdom will live with me forever.

Im sorry to hear about Jeff.I knew him from high school. We had classes together and liked working out with weights. At that time Jeff weighed 140 pounds and could bench press 250 lbs. That was an impressive feat. After graduating from high school we would get together with friends and go to nightclubs in Springfield mass and closed circuit boxing matches in Hartford. One of the fights was the Tyson vs Spinks match.Jeff was very humble and always willing to share his knowledge of body building. My heart goes out to the Entire Tye family. Jeff,...we had so much fun growing up toghether,on Federal St. I think of all our bike rides, our model car building, hoe we would race our newest "h.o" cars around the tracks we would set up ! And i was just talking too you few weeks ago ,reminding you how and about the funny nicknames that you would give to the stray cats around our homes ! You laughed so hard when i made you recall one of those cats, because you named it "polar bear rags !".I loved you, thanks for being a good friend to me !! I will think of you often JEFF !
