Jane B. Stanke

Jane B. Stanke, 90, of Bristol, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Countryside Manor in Bristol. Jane was born in Harwinton on November 13, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Harry and Alice (Bedus) Stanke. She received her degree from St. Joseph College in West Hartford and was employed as a social worker for 40 years. She volunteered at various organizations in the Bristol area, including the scheduling coordinator for the soup kitchen at the Zion Lutheran Church in Bristol, the coordinator for the Friendly Visiting Program of the Greater Hartford Council of Churches and at the Bristol Senior Center. She was a member of the board of the Bristol Emergency Shelter and former president of the Bristol Hospital Auxiliary. Jane is survived by her cousins: Patricia Kelly of Bristol, Russell (Dorothy) Wollman of Burlington, CT and Janice (William) Wollman-Gould of Arizona. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her loving companion Walter Gillan.
