James "Jim" V. Steele

James “Jim” Virgil Steele, 85, of Bristol passed away Wednesday (September 28, 2022). Jim was born on February 13, 1937 and was a son of the late Virgil and Jeannette (Fissette) Steele. He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years Barbara (Lavoie) Steele. Jim was a proud veteran of the Marine Corps having served in Washington DC as a MP. He was a skilled carpenter and construction superintendent. He took great pride in the commercial building projects he led as well as the carpentry work for family and friends. He was most proud of the family home he built and lived in for 54 years. He is survived by his sons Brian (Ana) Steele and Tim (Terry) Steele all of Farmington and his daughter Stacey (Scott) Hall of Bristol. He was “Pop Pop” to his grandchildren: James Steele, Jacob Hall, Mark Steele, Andrew Steele, Luke Steele and Lexi Hall. Jim was predeceased by his brother Bobby Steele and sisters Gertrude Dorbuck and Jane Spyros. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and MaryLou Lavoie of Bristol and many nieces and nephews.
