James "Jim" Fournier

On March 14, James “Jim” Fournier, loving husband of Doreen (Auclair) Fournier, passed away in Fort Pierce, Florida. Jim was born in Bristol on April 7, 1955 to the late Eugene and Blanche (Michaud) Fournier. He was a resident of Bristol and Fort Pierce.
Jim graduated from Bristol Eastern High School and Central Connecticut State University. He worked for more than 30 years as a spring design engineer for Connecticut Spring and Stamping, Ultimate Wireforms and MW Industries Division of Economy Spring. He retired in 2019 to spend time at his Florida home.
The greatest love and accomplishment of his life was the family he and Doreen built together. He and Doreen were married on June 10, 1978 and raised two beautiful children, Kyle and Stacy. All three were his world. No one could be prouder of two children than Jim and he was never shy about sharing his pride. He and Doreen were a strong team and best friends. He was the ultimate husband, father and friend.
Jim was passionate about family, friends and life itself. He was an avid cyclist and golfer. He belonged to several cycling clubs and Pequabuck Golf Club. He taught himself to play guitar and spent hours learning and playing. He was talented in so many areas and was willing to help anyone with any project.
Jim will be forever loved and missed by his wife Doreen, his son Kyle of Natick, MA, his daughter Stacy Rivers and her husband Kevin of Bristol, his brothers Paul (Francine) of Florida and Ron (Margaret) of Bristol, his sister Patricia Demay of Florida, brothers-in-law Dennis (Carol) Auclair of Bristol and Daryl Auclair (Kerri) of Seattle, WA, his beloved mother-in-law Theresa Auclair of Bristol, his grand dog Remi, many nieces, nephews and cousins and even more loving friends. Saying that he will be missed by all is an understatement.
He was predeceased by his parents, his father-in-law Joseph Auclair, his rescue dog and companion Roxie, and his best friend Matt Waz.
To honor Jim the family asks that you just live your best life with no worries. That is what he did, every day.
Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, for a walk-through visitation on Tuesday between 5 and 8 PM.
