James A. Alderuccio, 101 of Bristol passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday, February 19th, 2021.
Born in New Britain on March 17, 1919, James was a son of the late Cesear and Beatrice (Mezzio) Alderuccio. He lived in Bristol most of his life and retired from the US Post Office in 1981. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during WWII, and a member of St. Matthew Church. His greatest joys in life by far were his family and his love of travel. James was the widower of Doris (Lupien) Alderuccio, his cherished wife of nearly 70 years, and was predeceased by his beloved daughter Judith Pelletier. He was also predeceased by all eight of his brothers and sisters.
James is survived by three grandchildren, Jeffrey Pelletier and his wife, Tracy, James Pelletier and his wife, Susan, and Cheryl Pelletier all of Bristol; two great-granddaughters, Nicole and Jillian Pelletier; and many nieces and nephews. A walk-through visitation will take place at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Thursday, February 25th between 4 and 7 PM (Mask and social distancing are required). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 26th at 11 AM at St. Matthew Church, 120 Church Ave., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Bristol ARC, 621 Jerome Ave., Bristol, CT 06010.
