Jacqueline "Jackie" Tyler

Jacqueline “Jackie” Tyler passed away peacefully on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the age of 92 years old. Jackie was born on November 25, 1928 to Rose (Martin) and Rosario Jean. She was a lifelong resident of Bristol and worked for Plymouth Spring for 20 years. On April 29, 1950, she married the love of her life, Richard Tyler, with whom she shared over 62 years of marriage before his passing in May 2012. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Jackie. She had a passion for shopping and relished hunting for all of the best bargains. She also enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, and was an avid sports fan, enthusiastically cheering for the New York Yankees and the women’s UCONN Husky basketball team. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and her beloved cat, “Ms. Kitty.” She was a strong and loving matriarch of our family and we will miss her dearly. She is survived by her two daughters, Pamela (Steven) Shorey and Nancy (Dennis) Flanders. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Tyler (Erika) Shorey, Brian (Tina) Chu, Daniel (Christa) Felton, Stephanie (Joseph) Roca and Melissa Keith. She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, a niece, and two nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Jackie was predeceased by her sister, Jeannette (Lawrence) Tyler. Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol has the honor of serving Jackie’s family. All services will be private.
