Grace B. Stranieri

Grace (Barlow) Stranieri, 88, of Bristol, passed away on (Friday) September 10, 2021 after a short illness. She was born in Mill River, MA on February 16, 1933. Her parents were Arthur and Carrie (Waterbury) Barlow. When she was 10 years old, her family moved to Bristol, CT. She graduated from Bristol High School in 1950, and was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church.

In 1956, she married Rocco S. “Rocky” Stranieri, who predeceased her in 2014. They had six children: Linda Boilard, Brian Stranieri, Paul Stranieri (and fiancé Kathy Albano), Steven Stranieri (and wife Joanne), John Stranieri (and wife Elizabeth), and Angela Stranieri. They were also blessed with grandchildren: Jennifer Boilard, Katie Cassidy (and husband Gene), Brandon Stranieri (and wife Kristen), Sara Stranieri, Bryanna Stranieri, Jessica Stranieri, and Adriana Stranieri, as well as great-grandchildren Lucas Cassidy and Nicolas Stranieri. She also had many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that were dear to her heart.
She had two brothers, Arthur and Ellsworth Barlow, and a sister, Dorothy Green, who predeceased her.

After raising a large family, Grace worked at Bristol Savings Bank and retired after a long career at Bristol City Hall in 1998. After retirement, she was involved in many community organizations, her local church, and was chairperson of her high school reunion committee. She enjoyed playing cards, attending bingo, and socializing with her many friends.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7pm on (Monday) September 13, 2021 at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. Funeral services will be held at 9:30am on (Tuesday) September 14, 2021 from Funk Funeral Home to St. Anthony Church, 111 Church St., Bristol, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am.
