Gertrude P. Anderson

Gertrude P. Anderson, 96, of Bristol, widow of Russell G. Anderson, died on Monday (January 25, 2021) at Sheriden Woods Health Care Center.  Gertrude was born on September 30, 1924 in Waterbury and was a daughter of the late Harold and Martha (Russell) Scott.
She formerly lived in Elmwood for 30 years prior to moving to Bristol in 1980. She worked as a nurse’s aid in Hartford Hospital for 14 years retiring in 1977. During her life she was a member and past noble grand of Unity Rebekah Lodge #54, Plainville, past-president of the Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War (DUVCW), Hartford, and past-president of the T.R. Martin Lodge Ladies Patriarch Militant Auxiliary, Waterbury.
Gertrude leaves two children: Marilyn Ciccio and husband, Salvatore of Southington, and Donald Anderson and wife, Susan of East Windsor; a brother: Dennis Scott of South Carolina; five grandchildren: Gregory Anderson, Sarah Elizabeth Anderson, Salvatore Ciccio, Jr., Christopher, and Raymond Ciccio; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings: Russell Scott and Virginia Woodbury.
