George W. Golnik, 97, lifelong resident of Bristol, widower of Norma (Peterson) Golnik, passed away on Friday, March 17, 20323. George was born in Bristol on January 2, 1926 and was the youngest of eight born to August and Pauline (Krampitz) Golnik. After graduating from Bristol High School, he entered the United States Navy serving in Hawaii during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he went to work for Pratt and Whitney as a Technical Engineer until his retirement. He was a longtime Mason of the Frederick-Franklin Lodge and an Asbury United Methodist Church member. George is by his daughter Deborah Archambault of Myrtle Beach, SC and his son Dean Golnik and his partner Patricia Thibault of Bristol; grandchildren: Lisa (Scott) Zimmerman of Conneaut, OH, Justin (Angela) Archambault of Myrtle Beach, SC, Gretchen (Joseph Page of Newark, OH, Benjamin (Lindsay) Golnik of Portsmouth, RI; great-grandchildren: Chase Zimmerman, Vivian, Vincent and Geno Page, Jackson Archambault, Silas Golnik; many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his son-in-law John Archambault; brothers: Herman, Otto, Albert, Paul, Gustav, Emil Golnik and a sister Margaret Kagl.
