Francis J. Hogan Jr.

Francis J. Hogan Jr., beloved husband of Linda, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, died on Tuesday (April 6, 2021) at his home.  “Frank” was born on July 21, 1948 in Torrington to the late Francis J. Hogan, Sr. and Beverly (Meyer) Hogan; raised in Harwinton, CT.  In spite of having promising opportunities to develop into a professional baseball player, Frank understood the value of education.  After graduating from Lewis S. Mills High School, Frank earned a degree in accounting from the Hartford Institute of Accounting. While working as an accountant, Frank honorably served as a member of the Connecticut Army National Guard from 1969 to 1975, obtaining the rank of Sergeant. Along with his wife Linda, Frank is survived by three children: Tara Ljubuncic (and husband--Elis of Burlington), Lindsey Klemyk (and husband--Jason of Southington); and Keith Hogan (and wife-- Rebecca of Bristol); Beverly Malinowski (sister) of Newington; eight grandchildren: Layla, Adam, and Alayna Ljubuncic; Carley and Julia Klemyk; Paige Widlak, Kailey and Lainey Hogan —who affectionately knew him as “Poppy”, and many nieces and nephew, sister and brother in-laws who knew him as “Hoaggie”.  Frank was predeceased by his brother: Ronald Hogan. In addition to being the ever-present patriarch of the Hogan family, Frank was known by all for his incomparable sense of humor.  Frank was also a passionate Yankees fan and could talk all things Yankees with the best of them. Funeral services celebrating Frank’s life and his enduring memory will take place on Friday (April 9, 2021) at 11:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 154 Meadow St., Bristol, with the Rev. Kevin Karner, Pastor, officiating.  Burial, with military honors, will follow at the Burlington Center Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Friday between 9 and 10:30 AM to share condolences.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 154 Meadow St., Bristol, CT 06010.
