Esther (Desjardins) Levesque, 64, widow of Frederick Albenie Levesque, of Bristol, died (Tuesday) July 6, 1982 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Mrs. Levesque was born in Siegas, New Brunswick, Canada on February 20, 1918, daughter of the late Francis and Annie Desjardins. She moved from Van Buren, Maine to Bristol in the 1960s. She was a member of St. Ann’s Church and the Ladies of St. Ann Society.
She was survived by seven sons: Roland, Kenneth, John, and Peter Levesque, all of Bristol, Harold Levesque of Glendale, AZ, Robert Levesque of Hamden, and Donald Levesque of Fort Worth, TX; five daughters: Yolande Morin, Agathe Ringuette and Gaetane Plourde, all of Bristol, Jacqueline Plourde of Harwinton, and Donna Levesque of Fairbanks, AL; four brothers: Laurent and Germain Desjardins, both of Siegas, New Brunswick, Canada, Maurice Desjardins of Presque Isle, ME, and Claude Desjardins of St. Basile, New Brunswick, Canada; three sisters: Roseland Violette of Prospect, Germaine Cyr of Siegas, New Brunswick, Canada, and Rita Ringuette of Edmunston, New Brunswick, Canada; many grandchildren, a great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews. Esther was predeceased by two sons, Raymond, 7, and Clifton, 2, who died in a house fire in Van Buren, ME in March 1959; as well as his baby boy Joseph, who passed away at ten days old.
Funeral services were held (Friday) July 9, 1982 at 8am from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Ann’s Church for a mass at 9 am. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Bristol. Friends were invited to call at the funeral home (Thursday) July 8 from 2-4 and 7-9pm, with members of the Ladies of St. Ann Society assembling at 7:30pm.
