Our beloved Great Uncle Emil O. Jabs, widower of Irene Jabs, died on Saturday (March 27, 2021) at Ingraham Manor. Emil was born on March 21, l926, in Gross Dembe (Dom Vielke), Poland and was one of nine offspring of the late Amalia and Emil Jabs.
Raised in Poland, he would move to Germany before having the opportunity to come to Bristol in 1951. He was happily employed in the Bristol industrial system his entire life and was an active participant in the Christian values and life style of Immanuel Lutheran Church for over seventy years along with his wife, Irene. He enjoyed gardening and traveling the world, especially on cruises.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Magda Jabs of Bristol, and several nieces and nephews, both here in the US and in Germany. He was predeceased by his eight siblings: Tina Strunk, Albert Jabs, Julius Jabs, Freida Jobs, Lydia Strunk, Martha Heim, Erna Rode, and Waldemar Jabs.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday (March 31, 2021) at 12 Noon at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 154 Meadow St., Bristol, with the Rev. Kevin Karner, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in West Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the church prior to the funeral on Wednesday between 11 AM and 12 Noon.
