Ella M. (Maretzki) Woike, 93, of Bristol, widow of Rodney W. Woike, passed away at her home on Friday (February 19, 2021). Ella was born on February 6, 1928 in Germany and was a daughter of the late Eduard and Olga (Ott) Maretzki. After the war, in 1949 she came to Bristol. She was the first in her family to come to America.
She worked for many years at the E. Ingraham Co. She then was employed at Radcliffe Wire where she retired after 40 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bristol, where she served on the Altar Guild and helped with the church archives.
Ella was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Rodney, and a brother, Adolph Maron. She is survived by her sister: Hedwig Maretzki of Bristol; sister-in-law: Maureen Maron of Oxford, MS; and her nieces and nephews: David Maron, Rhoda Maron, Ruth Huskey, Louis Woike, Dave Woike, Lois Villarreal, Donna Woike, and Dale Woike.
The family thanks the wonderful caregivers and the Bristol Hospice nurses for their compassionate care of Ella.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday (February 27, 2021) at 11 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 149 Meadow St., Bristol. Burial will follow in the West Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call directly at the church on Saturday between 10 and 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made Immanuel Lutheran Church, 149 Meadow St., Bristol, CT 06010.
