I started working at the CT State Personnel Department in the 70's, not too long after Don had been appointed Chief of the newly combined Personnel Services Division. Although I never personally worked for Don, I got to know him well in the years before he retired. Don's best qualities were his friendliness and his sense of humor. No matter the seriousness of the moment, you could always count on Don to cut the ice with a few jokes. He will be missed. May he rest in peace and my deepest condolences to his family.

To Don’s family I send my condolences and sympathy. Don was my classmate and teammate and was loved by all. Our team had our biggest cheerleader in Don. Nobody could ever lacking spirit and drive when Dom was present. Great person.

Don Auidi interviewed many years ago for my first job after college graduation.
He counseled me many times during my employment. With encouragement, I completed a second college degree through evening study, and was able to retire from the State of CT as an Associate Accountant.
