David G. Coneita, 79, of Bristol, passed away at Hartford Hospital June 8, 2022 after a six-month battle with heart failure with his loving wife Gail by his side. Dave was born July 21, 1942 in Halifax, Nova Scotia to the late George and Marguerite (O’Connell) Coneita.

His mom passed when Dave was only eight years old, so his dad moved the siblings back to Bristol. Dave married his first wife, Doris Doty and had three daughters, Patricia, Elizabeth and Lisa. He met his true love, Gail Schittina on Palm Sunday 1984 and they married August 3, 1984. Dave worked as a foreman for Carling Technologies and retired after thirty years in 2001. He as a devoted parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Bristol. Dave loved woodworking, playing setback, Yahtzee, the Yankees, the Giants, bus trips, AMC movies, and his pets, Brutus and Tasha.

In addition to his wife of 38 years, he is survived by one daughter, Lisa Marie of Waterbury, also Richard and Anthony Jalbert; grandchildren: Jamie and Branden Coneita, Toni Cunningham, Nichole Seeley, Marcella, Timothy, Julianne Jalbert, and Jessica Morin; great-grandchildren: Analiyah Coneita and Emma Murtagh; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two daughters: Elizabeth and Patricia, and siblings: George, Wilfred, Donald, and Colleen.
He was a devoted husband and will be truly missed and forever in my heart. My only consolation is that he is no longer suffering and is with Jesus and his family. Many thanks to Hartford Hospital and their Hospice Team for all their care and support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at on Saturday (June 18, 2022) at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, 33 Queen St., Bristol.  Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Mausoleum, Bristol.
