Clifford W. DeVaux, 80, of Bristol, died on Tuesday (July 20, 2021) at Bristol Hospital. Born on February 16, 1941 in Avon, CT, he was the son of the late William and Hazel (Fischer) DeVaux.
Clifford honorably served our country in the United States Army, where he was ranked top shooter. He worked at New Britain Machine for over 20 years, holding various positions including management. Clifford was a car enthusiast; he loved old cars, enjoyed slot car racing and was very good at customizing them. When he wasn’t racing cars he also enjoyed riding his bicycle.
Clifford is survived by his daughters Lisa Murray and her fiancé Nik Paneczko, and Cheryl Baehr and her husband Ron, all of Bristol; his five grandchildren Jeffery DeVaux, Ryan Murray, Tyler Murray, Chris Baehr, and Max Baehr; as well as his niece Bonnie Erkson and nephew Clifford Erkson. In addition to his parents, Clifford is predeceased by his sister Patricia Erkson.
Calling hours will be held Monday (July 26, 2021) from 5 to 7PM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, which has the honor of serving Clifford’s family. A graveside service with full Military Honors will be on Tuesday (July 27, 2021) at 1PM at the State of Connecticut Veterans’ Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown.
