Christopher Cercola, 44, of Bristol, died on Thursday (August 20, 2020). Christopher was born on May 12, 1976, to Laura Cercola and the late Thomas V. McAllen. He grew up in Waterbury, and was a graduate of Crosby High School, class of 1994, he then moved to Bristol in 2002. He loved to cook, and was the former owner of Dog City Food Truck in Bristol, and a long-time cook at Frankie’s of Waterbury as well as several other area restaurants. Christopher was a fan of boxing, and had interviewed several boxers on the radio. He was also an avid New York Yankees fan. Christopher was a man of many passions, but above all else, he loved his kids, with whom he was the happiest.
In addition to his mother, Laura, Christopher is survived by his son: Mateo Cercola of Bristol; daughters: Andrea and Luciana Cercola, of Bristol; step-sister: Jaime Jewett; aunts: Geraldine Johnston and her husband Warren, Mary Cercola, Lynn, Joyce, Jennifer, Susan, Liz and Kathy; uncles: Larry Cercola and his wife Gina, Michael McAllen; nieces: Ashley and her husband Mike Garboski, Lauren, and Michela Medina; brother-in-law and good friend: Mike Medina; step-nephews: Josiah and Gabriel White; great-niece: Alyssa Garboski; cousins: Amanda Dovidaitis and Isabella and Francesca Cercola; former wife: Paola Garces; lifelong best friend: Calvin Peterson; several more cousins, and his dog Muzzy. He was predeceased by his sister: Maureen Medina; maternal grandparents: Carmella Cercola and Lawrence Cercola and Rachel Cercola.
Funeral services will be held on Friday (August 28, 2020) at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. Relatives and friends are invited to call between 5:00 and 7:00 PM, a prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
