Charles C. Bevivino, 93, of Bristol, widower of Lena (Mingo) Bevivino passed away on Monday (March 12. 2018) with his loving family by his side. Charles was born in Utica, NY on April 25, 1924 and was a son of the late Joseph and Maria (Sammarco) Bevivino. He came to Bristol with his family in 1927 and attended local schools. He enlisted in the United States Navy to serve during World War II and was honorably discharged on March 25, 1946. He worked at Superior Electric until retiring in 1986. Charles was a member of various clubs throughout Bristol including the West End Club, the Italian Social Club, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 5, and the Bristol Elk’s Lodge. He enjoyed his card games and his trips to the casino. A parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Parish in Bristol, he attended St. Anthony Church. Charles is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Mary Ann and Jack VanBeveren of Bristol; five grandchildren: Charles VanBeveren and wife, Pamela, Jessica, Melissa VanBeveren, Trisha and Stephen Bevivino; 13 great-grandchildren: Anthony, Juliann, Malena, Andrew, Jayeson, Isabella, Nikolas, Jacklyn, Leianna and Joshuah VanBeveren, Sydney, Michael, and Matthew Bevivino; a great-great-grandson: Dorian Bevivino; sisters-in-law: Marion Bevivino of Bristol, and Concetta Mingo of Rocky Hill; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Joseph R. Bevivino, a grandson, Michael J Bevivino. The family would also like to thank Dr. Oliver Diaz and his family for all the care and support they provided to Charles for many years. We would also like to thank the Pines of Bristol for the care they provided to Charles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday (March 16, 2018) at 11 AM at St. Anthony Church, 111 School Street, Bristol. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Friday between 9:30 and 10:30 AM, prior to the Mass.
