Bryan W. Rathbun, 59, of Bristol, loving husband of Lisa (Norton) Rathbun and devoted father of Etta, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at UConn John Dempsey Hospital, Farmington. He was born in New Britain on May 21, 1963 and was the son of the late Charles and Shirley (Penney) Rathbun. Bryan worked for forty years at The Ethel Walker School in Simsbury as the groundskeeper. During Bryan’s tenure, he was the recipient of The Frenchie Award in 2007. This award recognizes a member of the Walker's community who personifies the characteristics of warmth and cheerfulness. In 2016 Bryan was awarded The Ethel Walker Medal which is the highest honor bestowed by the school. He enjoyed restoring antique vehicles including his 1930 Ford Model-A Huckster.
In addition to his wife and daughter Bryan is survived by his siblings: Brenda (Liedel) Stedman and her husband Wayne; David Liedel; James Rathbun and his wife Shelley; Tami (Rathbun) Wiley and her husband Ricky: his in laws Janet and Forrest Norton; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother Raymond Liedel.
