Aline (Deschenes) Gagnon, 94, of Bristol, widow of Emmanuel Gagnon, passed away on October 16, at The Pines of Bristol. Born on March 20,1926, in St. Joseph, N.B., Canada, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Flavie (Roussel) Deschenes. She was raised in St. Joseph before moving to CT as a young woman. A long time resident of Bristol, Aline was an active member of St. Ann Church and the Ladies of St. Ann Society. She worked for many years at Waring Products in New Hartford before retiring. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She loved to laugh and visit with her family. Gramma Aline especially loved time spent with her two grandchildren, watching TV game shows and playing with Scooby the dog. Aline is survived by her stepdaughters: Claudette Gagnon-Zink of Bristol; Doris Reiss and her partner Jay Rojo of Trabuco Canyon, CA; two grandchildren: Briana Zink and her fiancée Connor O’Neill of Bristol; Alec Reiss of NYC; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her first husband Norman Picard; five brothers, Leo, Valerien, Rival, Edgar and Alyre; five sisters, Irma, Albine, Yvette, Rita and Marianne; and her stepson-in-law Robert Zink. The family would like to thank the staff and residents at The Pines at Bristol for their kindness and compassion. Private funeral services will be held at Funk Funeral Home. Aline will be laid to rest following her service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Unionville, CT. Memorial donations in Aline’s name can be made to The Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org/).
