Albin J. Uzup, 94, of Burlington, died on Sunday (November 18, 2018) at the Pines at Bristol. Albin was born in Worcester, MA on September 17, 1924 and was a son of the late Jerry and Anna (Krauzatis) Uzup. Raised in Manchester, he served in the United States Army during World War II serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater as a winch operator. He received a sharpshooter rifle badge as well as a good conduct medal. After the war, he went to work for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft and was married to Eleanor Uzup. While at Pratt and Whitney he met Marielle Albert and moved to Burlington. They would go on to own and operate Marielle’s Woodside Restaurant in Terryville. He was a member of the Lithuanian Club in Manchester, enjoyed taking drives, and he loved animals. Albin is survived by his wife, Marielle Albert; a step-daughter: Christine Seroczynski and husband, Sigmund; and two step-grandchildren: Allison and Matthew Seroczynski. He was predeceased by his sister, Bertha Uzup. Funeral services will be held at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol on Monday (November 26, 2018) at 11 AM. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home on Monday between 10 and 11 AM.
