Alberto T. Mayorga

Alberto T. Mayorga, 85, of Bristol, beloved husband of Evangelista (Romero) Mayorga, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at UConn John Dempsey Hospital. Alberto was born on December 7, 1937 in Pararca, Ayacucho, Peru and was a son of the late Salvatore and Felicita (Montoya) Mayorga. Raised in Peru, Alberto came to the United States in 1961 and soon thereafter met his future wife, Evangelista in the Hartford area. Alberto and Evangelista moved to Bristol where they raised their family. He worked at Stanley Works in New Britain for 25 years where he retired from in 1999. Alberto leaves his wife of 53 years, Evangelista; three children: Albert “David” Mayorga of Bristol, Gerard “Paul” Mayorga of New York City and Loreen Gawel and her husband Ryan of Bristol, and; three grandchildren: Lucas, Landon and Leah; two brothers Victor Mayorga and his wife Mary of Bristol, Hector Mayorga and his wife Avia of Peru; two sisters Maria Evangelista and her husband Diego of Bristol and Dora Rye of England; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Ruben Mayorga. 

The visiting hour will be this Saturday morning, November 18, 2023 from 9 to 10 AM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM in St. Gregory the Great Parish, 235 Maltby Lane, Bristol. Interment will follow in Saint Thomas Cemetery, 209 Belleview Ave Southington.
