My sincerest condolences to Heidi's family for your loss. It was many, many years ago when my parents would go to your home on Garfield Road with me in tow. The memories I have of those days are quite faded. Victoria (Tody) and Frank Bauer were my godparents. Tody and my mother - Lois Thomas- met each other while working at Ingraham's on Riverside Ave. I'm pretty sure that what tied your folks, Tody and Frank, and my parents together was either couples bowling or winter skiing. I hope that your parents are living with our Lord and Father in heaven. May God comfort you, bless you and give all of you His peace. Andrea L Jabs

Yes,your parents did bowl with my parents and Tody and Frank. I think they went to each other houses after bowling...I remember my mom making her chocolate pie.
Thank you for the memory

I always felt Heidi was a special woman and never took her generosity, cheerful spirit and thoughtfulness for granted. But it is only in her passing that I am recognizing how deep and wide my appreciation for her has always been. Heidi, she preferred that to Grandma, though she really was more than a grandmother to my husband Wayne. She stepped into the role of mother, caring for him and his brothers as infants, when their mother could not.

Heidi was an exceptional woman, always generous, thoughtful, standing like a rock in the face of adversity. I often marveled, wondering, how does she do it? How does she manage to post birthday and anniversary cards so that they always arrive on the exact day of celebration? How is that she can remain so cheerful and pleasant even when life is not so easy? How is it that she never complain or speak badly of anyone? How is it that she gives with such generosity of spirit, truly never expecting anything in return? Even when we visited her in the hospital, a few days before her passing, she was cheerful, speaking kindly of the staff, repeatedly saying, "everyone here is so nice, caring for me so well, I can't complain and I'm in no pain."

Even though Heidi lived a relatively normal family life, she was a person of extraordinary qualities; generous, caring and selfless to all of her family, equally. She has been an inspirational model for many of us and will remain to hold that position, both in our hearts and in our memories .
