Kristy L. Bartlett

Kristy Lyn Bartlett, 45, of Bristol, sadly passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday (November 25, 2022). Kristy was born in New Britain on March 17, 1977 and was the only daughter of Theresa (Tuscano) Bartlett of Florida and the late William E. Bartlett, Sr of Bristol.
She was raised in Bristol where she graduated from high school. She moved to California in 2000, then resided for a time in Pennsylvania where she and her wife purchased a home. She returned to California and ultimately moved back home to Bristol.
Many years ago, Kristy was diagnosed with Gastroparesis and lived with a PEJ feeding tube. She went through multiple surgeries and battled many complications from her illness.
Kristy was a fighter, she never gave up. Even in the worst of times she smiled through her pain and was there for everyone. She always brought light to every room she entered and every life she touched. Kristy was an artist; she loved to tattoo, paint, draw, woodburn, write poetry and music, and most of all loved photography. She also designed clothing for the PEJ tube to help ease the social discomfort and stigma and create conversation and educate instead of stares, etc. She always found the positive in a negative.
She has touched many lives during her 45 years and will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her, as well as those she never met.
Kristy is survived by her mother, Theresa; three brothers: William Bartlett, Jr. of Bristol, Joseph Bartlett, Sr., of Bristol, and Jason Bartlett of Cheshire; her wife, Lane Ransom of Pennsylvania; her lifelong friend: Brenda Eichner of Bristol; her beloved service dog, Maxx; and numerous extended family members and friends in Connecticut, California and beyond. She was predeceased by her father, William Bartlett, Sr.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Monday (December 5, 2022) between 5 and 7 PM followed by a prayer service at 7 PM led by Pastor Tom Baran. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
