Tribute

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph John Pisarski, 77, of Burlington, husband of Mary Jane Pisarski. Joe passed away unexpectedly on June 10th 2021 from complications of a cardiac event. Joseph was born on August 20th 1943 in Bristol to the late Regina and Alphonse Pisarski. Joe attended Bristol Central High School and enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. Joe was a proud member of the 101st Airborne Division 187th Infantry from 1960 to 1966. Joe enjoyed spending time with family and friends, his faithful companion Torey, fishing, hunting, gardening, nature, reading, cribbage and never met a stranger. Joe’s favorite pastime was walking especially in the woods and seeing all the creatures of nature. Joe was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Jane Pisarski, son, Colin, daughter, Kimberly Wordell daughter, April, granddaughter, Kyia Wordell, sister, Janet McKinstry and her husband Harrison (Mac), nephew, Jack Edwards and his wife Stefanie and their children Mia and Gabriella, nephews, Harrison McKinstry and Patrick McKinstry, and several nieces and nephews. Joe is also predeceased by his sister, Beverley Edwards, brothers Alfred, Reginald and Bruce, mother and father-in-law Jean and George Crowell, and “sister” Judy Bokun. Joe was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Joe lived by this quote “Improvise, Adapt and Overcome”. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Jack Adler and his entire staff for their compassionate care over the years. Each star in the sky is an individual light, no two alike. All the lights shining together illuminate the sky, but if even one were missing the sky would not be as bright. Joe was a star that shined so very bright, he lit up the room and his smile brought a welcoming that resonated with everyone. Joe’s shining light brightened the world and everyone that he met with his sense of humor and passion for life. Though Lost to Sight, to Memory Dear. The visiting hours will be Friday morning, June 18th, from 10 AM to 12 PM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol who has the honor of serving Joe’s family. A catholic service will be conducted in the funeral home at 12 noon.
